Deidre Penhall Memorial Poetry Prize 2023
For writing of original poetry
1st prize: $300 2nd prize: $200 3rd prize $100
Conditions of entry:
- Open to women aged 18 to 30 years on 31 December 2022 and residing within a 200 km radius of Orange, NSW and west of Penrith, NSW.
- Poems are to be original works.
- Poems are to be of Australian Bush Poetry style (i.e., with rhyme and metre).
- Poems are not to be offensive and must be suitable for family entertainment.
- Judging will be based on the written poem, without the poet’s name.
- Judges will not know the name or contact details of the poet.
- Poets may enter one or two poems only.
- Entry fee: $10 per poem.
- Entries close at 5 pm on Wednesday 21 December 2022.
- Poems should be clearly typed or written on A4 pages with the title of the poem and not including the name of the poet.
- A presentation ceremony will be held at an event in the Banjo Paterson Australian Poetry Festival on Saturday evening 25 February 2023 at which winners will be invited to read their poems.
